Tuition fees to reach students this month

TUITION fees help for East New Britain’s Kokopo students attending tertiary institutions, will reach them before the end of the month, according to district administrator John Talele.
He said students who applied and were approved for financial support under the 2020 Kokopo scholarship programme would have their fees paid to their respective institution.
Talele explained that K766,000 was allocated by the Kokopo development authority (DDA) board to pay out the fees.
He said all 604 students from Kokopo, who were attending 51 institutions, including universities, colleges and other government-recognised training institutions, were covered under the programme.
Talele apologised to parents and students for the delay in making the payment but said the district could not do anything during the Covid-19 lockdown.
He appealed to institutions in ENB and other parts of the country, not to pressure or send students away, as the situation was beyond everybody’s control.

  • How much would each student expect when the breakup is done? Would it vary between different institutions?
