National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Benjamin Turi thanked NCD Governor Powes Parkop for donating six  police vehicles yesterday.
“These vehicles are for the people and will serve the people,” Turi said.
He said the vehicles would not only serve Papua New Guineans but also expatriates living in the city.
“The governor gave us one (vehicle) last year and five (vehicles) this year.”
Turi said the vehicles were distributed to police stations in Port Moresby.
“We have distributed (the vehicles) to the Port Moresby police station and Waigani, which is used by the North-West (police) commander, and another one was given to the Moresby South police station.”
Turi said the other vehicles were used by the superintendent operations, the commander and the dog unit.
“The public can keep an eye on the policemen and report them to me if there are any misuse of police vehicles. Not only the donated ones but all the police vehicles,” he said.
