Tusbab eyeing top-4 spot

THE Tusbab Stallions are aiming for a top-four finish when the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League (NSL) resumes on Aug 1, says an official.
Team patron Conrad Wadunah said former skipper and Lae City recruit Nigel Malagian had set the target for the Madang-based club at the start of the season late last year.
“We will do our best to keep up to the commitment that our former captain made and that is to finish in the top-four at the end of the regular season and make the playoffs.
“We were hoping he would have kept to his captain’s commitment to meet that target but he left for Lae City.”
Despite Malagian’s departure, Wadunah said he was happy that the club’s participation in the country’s premier football competition had opened opportunities for their players to excel.
Meanwhile, he said training had resumed with most of the squad now back in Madang.
“Most of the players have returned to camp except Blaise Kuar and Micheal Tapiro, who are out of Madang.
“But otherwise, all is good.
“Training has been going good and the players are doing fine
“We are still waiting for the Covid-19 protocols that were to be sent by the Papua New Guinea Football Association and NSL.”
Six points behind Hekari United and City, the Stallions are fourth on the ladder which rookies Vitiaz United sit atop.

  • You can do it. Once upon a time Madang was a soccer domain province. Proof to other teams from other provinces that it is not over yet for Madang. Madang can regain its Soccer Spirit.
