TELECOMMUNICATION company Digicel PNG has partnered with the Education Department to air education content for free during the state of emergency (SOE) period on TVWAN.
The mobile and media company has been on the frontline during these unprecedented times to ensure students would maintain the momentum of their studies.
This joint initiative, pre-recorded educational content from the Education Department, is broadcasted on television every week-day between 9am and 11.30am.
The subject areas covered are mathematics, physics and geography.
These core subjects are broadcast at no cost to the department.
Digicel PNG chief executive officer Colin Stone said the education of children was important as it was the foundation of the country and his company was proud to support the efforts of the Ministry of Education.
“We are excited to participate and use our nationwide network to facilitate further education,” he said.
“This includes working with the ministry to look at further opportunities to expand this in the future.”
Education assistant secretary for the Tvet (technical vocational education training) and Unesco division, Annemarie Kona, commended Digicel for its support.
