Twinza appoints 35-year veteran Gard to head company

Business

OIL and gas company Twinza Oil Limited has announced the appointment of new chief executive officer (CEO) Robert Gard.
Gard, a 35-year veteran of the industry, will start in his new role on Jan 17.
Gard’s experience includes 12 years as a senior executive in Australian-based oil and gas companies and 23 years at ExxonMobil.
He joined Twinza from Denison Gas Ltd where, as CEO since May 2019, and prior to that in a senior commercial role, he played a pivotal role in establishing the company as a natural gas producer into the east coast Australian gas market.
While at Denison Gas, Gard oversaw the consolidation and integration of several gas fields, successfully upgraded asset reserves through a targeted drilling campaign, and secured a reserves-based lending facility with a major Australian bank, strategically positioning the company for solid growth over the next decade.
Twinza chairman Stephen Quantrill said: “Robert joins us with a proven track record of executive leadership and management, including negotiating and closing complex agreements with multiple counter-parties in Australia and overseas, and in managing assets from early stage development into production.
“We look forward to Robert joining us for the next exciting stage of Twinza’s journey as we put in place the agreements and the organisational capacity necessary to take the Pasca A project through to development for the benefit of Papua New Guineans.”
Gard said he was delighted to be joining the Twinza team and to return to the PNG energy industry.
“We have an extremely exciting and valuable project ready to go and I look forward to helping advance it to development so that its full value can be realised and shared with the people of PNG.”
