Two houses for PomTech staff ready

CONTRACTOR EOS and its subcontractors Red Sea Housing Construction of Qatar and KG Contractors continue to erect buildings and perform civil works to progress the construction of the Port Moresby Technical College (PomTech) training centre set for completion in late July or early August The first two newly built staff houses for PomTech teaching staff were celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony last week. 
The homes have three bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, toilet/bath and living rooms which have been linked to the new sewer sewage treatment plant. 
The two staff houses cost K255,000 each.
PomTech principal Allan Tira thanked PNG LNG and ExxonMobil for the two new staff houses, which have to be relocated from where the main project work is being carried out.
He said PomTech was privileged to be associated with the multi-billion kina project and looked forward to the completion of the new-look campus.
Following construction, the training centre will come under the care of the LNG plant site contractor, Chiyoda/JGC Joint Venture of Japan, and will provide the skilled staff for the plant site construction.
After the completion of the LNG plant site and delivery of first LNG in 2014, PomTech will be handed over to the National Government.
