WESTPAC has announced two new graduates to its PNG team under the Westpac Group’s graduate programme.

Rebecca Aibung and Jenelynne Bowoku were selected from a field of more than 90 applicants.

Now running in PNG for the fifth year, the programme introduces high-calibre recent university graduates into the Westpac business annually.  The graduates gain experience across the entire bank, before moving into a permanent role that suits their skills and career aspirations. “Since the graduate programme began in PNG, we have welcomed a number of young people to our team and watched them perform very well,” Westpac PNG, managing director, Geoff Toone said.

“We aim to recruit high-calibre graduates who will build a solid career at Westpac and we find that having graduates within our workforce improves the skill level for our entire team – which will mean better results for years to come.”  Bowoku graduated from the University of Papua New Guinea in 2015, attaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.

“I am excited to be selected for the programme because it has always been my dream to begin my career in the banking and financial services industry,” Bowoku said.

Aibung attained her Bachelor of Geographic Information Science Degree from the PNG University of Technology in 2014.
