Elementary students of Carr Memorial Primary School in Port Moresby will now enjoy the comfort of two new classrooms opened yesterday.

The students have been attending lessons under trees for a long time.

The funding for the classrooms was made available by Moresby North-West MP and Health Minister Michael Malabag.

They cost K360,000.

Malabag said his grandson Joshua Malabag was attending elementary at the school and seeing him taking lessons under a tree motivated him to help.

“When you see children, their genuine smiles and clapping, you would want to provide a better education for them,” he said.

Malabag announced a commitment of K200,000 to the school, which would be given by the acting Education Minister James Marape.
