Two officers promoted to colonel, commander

THE Papua New Guinea Defence Force recently promoted two of its officers to colonel and commander (navy).
Lieut-Col Opa Opa was promoted Colonel Lieut-Com Sebastian Maru to commander in the Navy and will be posted to the Tarangau Naval Base in Manus as its new commanding officer.
PNGDF Commander Brig-Gen Gilbert Toropo said both men had done a “great job” and to continue their duties.
Col Opa, on behalf of the officers, said it was God’s timing and blessing.
Opa thanked the defence council, National Executive Council, their immediate family members for their help.
