PAPUA New Guinea Swimming will be conducting two swim clinics in the  National Capital District and Morobe starting today.
The Port Moresby clinic starts today to Thursday while the Lae clinics start on Friday and ends on Saturday.
The course conductor coach Chris Smith brings a wealth of experience in coaching, programme development and learn to swim programmes, along with club management and administration.
The clinic is being funded by FINA, under the FINA development programme and PNG Swimming Inc.
PNG Swimming president Elizabeth Wells said the clinic would provide both theory and practical classes.
“The participants will be educated on being an effective swimming coach through identifying the key elements of effective technique in the four competitive strokes, the basic mechanics of swimming and taught how to put together a basic workout design, and how to evaluate training progress”.
“If our goal is to provide our swimmers in the community with the best coaching available, we need to educate our coaches, to provide them with the latest and best information available,” Wells said.
The participants for the courses in Port Moresby clinics are Liz Wells, Sue Babao, Joe Meauri, Villiwa Puana, Ali Nott, Caroline McGann, Amanda Donigi, Wape Zilling, Doris Mileng, Marge Yukil, Tony Sari, Patrick Brown and Cecil Davani and also from school teachers include Concepta Wot, Terence Tuohik, Monica Keanga, Thomas Magiuli, Gilbert Camilius, Ismael Nombe, Esther Uradok, Oveti Meaporo, Vali Gora, Vera Akung, Michael Oraka and Barbra Sapea.
