THE country’s only sports institute in Goroka wants nothing less than the best out of its staff.

National Sports Institute director Janet Gimots said she wanted quality materials written by qualified staff of the institute and the PNG Sports Foundation.

She made the remarks when welcoming regional sports officers, managers and directors from Lae, Rabaul and Port Moresby for a two-week course at the institute.

“We are all here to learn from each other, criticise each other and push each other for the best outcomes,” Gimots said.

She said the purpose of the workshop was to conduct training for PNGSF staff, who would be presenting or facilitating the sports administration at the regional level.

“We are covering presentation skills, teaching strategies, method of delivery, planning, aids, troubleshooting, ice-breakers, energisers, and understanding role of the facilitator and group management.”
