U17 match sees all-female team officiate

 AN all-female team of four match officials were applauded by participating teams, fans and the PNGFA during the Tablebirds National Youth Football championship on Wednesday.

The four, Susan Awele, Anna Yapi, Samantha Romo and Wanting Yagum officiated in the main Under-17 match between Bialla and Lae at the Lae Football Association park at Eriku, Lae.

Yapi from the Lahi Soccer Association umpired the match, Awele and young Romo from the Madang Soccer Association ran the lineswomen while Yagum was the fourth official controlling the substitutes on the sideline. 

Lae beat Bialla 1-0 on a muddy pitch.
