PUMA Energy has announced its regional grand prize winner of the May-April Madness promotion as Phona Basso for the Mamose region.
The 25-year-old hails from Finchhafen and Manus and he wins free fuel for the year worth K10, 000. It would end on May 31 next year.
Basso found out about the promotion from Eriku Service Station attendants in Lae when was with his uncle who operates a bus service to Bulolo.
He grabbed his uncle’s receipts and entered the draw.
“I didn’t expect it, although I knew I had been continuously handing in my entries. There were a lot of people who had entered and I felt I would have a slim chance of winning,” Basso said.
The win was timely as he had left school due to fee issues and was doing odd jobs to support his mother and younger sister.
Basso thanked Puma Energy and God for meeting his needs through this promotion. More than 30 branded Puma Energy retail sites around the country participated in promotion which included weekly and fortnightly prizes leading up to the grand prize draw.
Puma Energy will be announcing the grand prize winners for the Highlands and New Guinea Island regions soon.
The Southern region grand prize winner was Brian Poiya, a taxi driver from Western Highlands.
