Understand statements

Business

THE ability to read and understand financial statements is an important skill to possess as a board director of any company.
Landowner directors attending a three-day PNG company directors course found they had significant responsibilities to the boards they served on, and being responsible for the financial statements reflecting the affairs of the company was a vital one.
Community–based landowner directors on the boards of companies managed by the Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC) were given a basic introduction to reading and understanding financial statements during the course facilitated by the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
