THE PNG University of Natural Resources and Environment has increased it undergraduate academic programmes from two to five in one year.
University Vice-Chancellor Pro-fessor John Warren told a staff meeting last week that it was one of the biggest achievements for the university last year.
The programmes are Sustainable Tropical Agriculture, Sustainable Fisheries Marine Resources, Sustainable Tropical Forestry, Sustainable International Tourism, and Sustainable Animal Science.
Warren said he believed the UNRE was the first university in PNG to have fully complied with the PNG qualification framework. It means that the degree programmes offered were legal.
Since taking office in September 2016, Warren’s main focus was to improve academic programmes which was achieved with the assistance of a council headed by Chancellor Professor Kenneth Sumbuk.
