Uni students to receive fees

SOUTHERN Highlands students attending universities and colleges are urged to submit their names to the provincial government to receive fee subsidy.
Governor William Powi’s official, Naik Boski said the provincial government was committed to subsidising the fees for these students.
Boski advised students involved in the boycott of classes at Unitech in Lae, to give it up.
“The Southern Highlands students attending the University of Technology must return to class because their education is very much important,” he said.
He said they should leave the matter to the Government to deal with and concentrate on their studies.
He said the provincial government would provide job opportunities for those who had completed their programmes at the universities or colleges.
“This means that the future of education in the province is bright and I’m appealing to the parents to encourage their children to be serious with their education,” he said.
He said it was important that parents, guardians and the people of Southern Highlands must promote quality education.
