THE Papua New Guinea Trade Union Congress has expressed serious concerns over the national government’s handling of the judiciary.
The union in a statement yesterday said it was one thing trying to undermine the Constitution “but a completely different thing in trying to undermine the judiciary”.
“It is very clear that this government is willing to adopt extraordinary measures in maintaining their stranglehold onto power,” the congress said.
“We do not want to question the integrity of the government but are merely expressing our concerns that it is now treading on dangerous grounds.”
The union said allegations against any leader must follow due process.
