THE University of Technology council met on Tuesday to discuss resumption of classes, however, an announcement will not be made until legal and technical matters are cleared.
Chancellor Sir Nagora Bogan and vice chancellor Dr Albert Schram confirmed the deferral of the announcement  yesterday.
“The meeting did take place but some matters require legal and technical clearance,” Sir Nagora told The National.
“We will make an official statement this weekend after clearing legal and technical matters.”
Dr Schram said: “Council decided to have some internal consultations first and then give a press conference.”
Weeks of boycotting classes by Unitech students culminated in the murder of first-year surveying and lands studies student Graham Romanong, from Southern Highlands, on June 25.
Several buildings at the university were also burned in deliberate acts of sabotage that night.
