Unitech losing quality

I WRITE on behalf of students and staff at PNG Unitech, especially in engineering fields.

Unitech is on the verge of transforming into a technical college.

Qualified lecturers have left this great institution because their salary package is poor.

Our few qualified and experienced nationals are also on the verge quitting because of attractive offers from industries and overseas institutions.

It appears that we cannot retain them and continue to attract other highly qualified professionals to take up vacancies and positions at the campus.

The current pay package for lecturers is that of a graduate engineer and that is not conducive for an expatriate to take up the positions advertised.

We need to attract and keep these experts to feed us what we require.
