The Papua New Guinea University of Technology will have its annual open day on Friday.
This year’s theme is; “Unitech for building career pathways for our young children”.
Organising committee chairman Dr Patrick Michael said invitation letters had been sent to secondary schools in Morobe, Madang, and the Highlands provinces to attend the open day.
He said the university was inviting provincial guidance officers and principals of secondary schools around the country to attend and be informed about the admission requirements.
Michael said the open day targets grade 12 students and school leavers to inform them about the different choices of career pathways available at Unitech.
All 13 academic departments were preparing information on the courses offered and will be talking to visiting students and their teachers during the event.
“Key support services like the library, clinic, security, and students’ facilities centre are taking part to talk to students and teachers on important services related to social, security, health, and spiritual wellbeing of students provided by the university,” Michael said.
He said teachers need to ensure their students behaved orderly to avoid inconveniencing others.
University security would provide additional supervision during the event.
