University of Technology (Unitech) students and staff have shown support for University of PNG students through money contributions to assist displaced and injured students.
Students Representative Council president David Kelma said their financial support would help their “brothers and sisters” in their time of need.
“Students need money as they are not employed and this contribution will help pay for their medical fees and food,” he said.
Kelma told students at a meeting yesterday that any amount contribution would be appreciated as it would help their fellow students.
“Whether you give K1 or K2 would be a blessing to those who are in dire need right now,” he said.
Kelma told The National that their contribution was a sign that they fully supported UPNG and would continue their fight.
In showing support, he said communities living near the Unitech campus had already donated more than K1800 to help UPNG students.
