THE University of Technology is arranging a temporary mess facility at the campus as it prepares for the return of students to resume classes for Semester One.
The permanent mess was razed two weeks ago by a group of armed men.
Vice-chancellor Dr Albert Schram said the temporary mess facilities had been arranged by the IPI catering company.
IPI catering operations manager Dennis Sparks said the temporary facility would be completed by July 18.
He said the university appreciated the assistance given by the Government and the Morobe government.
He said although the facilities were ready, it might take a while for students to get over the traumatic experience they went through. He is satisfied with the security arrangement on campus.
Morobe Governor Kelly Naru inspected the damaged buildings at the East Taraka campus yesterday.
Naru said it was a regrettable and unfortunate incident.
Naru said Schram and Metropolitan Superintendent Anthony Wagambie Jr had been doing a good job in restoring normalcy in Lae city and Unitech.
