United claim third win, Madang clubs triumph

MOROBE United recorded their third win in the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League (NSL) Northern Conference with a 1-0 victory over Besta PNG United at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium in Lae on Saturday.
In Madang, home teams Laiwaden and the Tusbab Stallions won their games against Markham and Snax Lahi United respectively.
Laiwaden beat Markham 2-0 and Stallions held out Lahi with the same scoreline.
In Lae, Morobe wasted no time as they opened the scoring through Russel Nirik in the first minute.
Nirik is proving himself to be one of the Morobe’s the top goal scorers in the Northern Conference.
Both team had their fair share of ball possession.
The Papua New Guinea Football Association Academy team put up a strong fight, however, Morobe held on to see out the win.
