United defend subpar total against Kempa

UNITED, Poreporena and Hoods registered narrow wins in the ITI Port Moresby Cricket Association (POMCA) premier division T20 matches over the weekend.
On Saturday, United were bowled out for a low 123 with Lega Siaka (30), John Boge Reva (20) and Sese Bau (19) all among the runs while Greg Baeau took four for 12 for Kempa. In reply, Kempa were bowled out for 93 with Leke Morea (3-0), Lega Siaka (2-15) and Mahuru Dai (2-21) doing the damage with the ball for United while Michael Rawali scored 40 runs for Kempa.
On Sunday, Poreporena beat Coasters by 25 runs, while Hoods beat Wanderers by 34 runs. Poreporena posted 129/7 with Jack Vare-Kevere (47), Riley Hekure (22) and Dogodo Bau (21) all making valuable contributions.
In reply, Coasters collapsed early and were bowled out for 104 in the final over. Norman Vanua (30) top scorered while Riley Hekure (3-22), Toua Gamu (2-8) and Dogodo Bau (2-16) all took Poreporena’s wickets.
Hoods were bowled out for a disappointing 100 inside 19 overs, with Assad Vala top scoring with 35 runs while Heni Siaka (4-23) and Bobby Diho (3-29) took seven wickets between them for Wanderers.
Wanderers were never in the hunt, managing only 66/9. Vala starred with the ball taking 5-9.
