THE Institute of Business Studies, through the IBS College of Tvet (Technical vocational education and training) and IBS University, will be taking part in Miss Pacific Islands Pageant (MPIP) PNG in Port Moresby in Nov.
This follows the launch of Miss IBS 2019 yesterday.
IBS University Vice-Chancellor Dr Ramachandran Arunachalam said the Miss IBS was a special event in the institute’s calendar.
“I commend the contestants for their courage and confidence,” Arunachalam said.
“Taking that first step is already an indication of leadership and openness to what life holds for oneself.”
Six contestants participated in Miss IBS with 22-year-old second year economics student Magarita Sariman, of Central, awarded the title of Miss IBS. MPIP chairman Molly O’Rourke said it was a platform for grooming and developing young women in PNG and the Pacific as a whole.
Miss Pacific Islands Leoshina Kariha said all contestants displayed leadership skills by taking that first step to contest.
She said Miss IBS would join five other contestants vying Miss PNG before the Miss Pacific Islands event.
