University opens distance learning centre

THE University of Goroka recently launched a Flexible Distance Learning Programme in Kimbe under the concept of ‘Gown to Town.’
Under the concept, UOG is embarks to externalise its academic programmes to reach the people in all communities.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Musawe Sinabare said that working class and other prospective students were being given the opportunity to pursue studies trough the UOG Institute of Distance and Flexible Learning (IDFL) through UOG Open Campuses.
He said for WNB, the UOG was honouring an agreement signed with the provincial government in 2014 to promote an early childhood training programme.
Both parties have agreed to review the agreement before the end of the year to take into consideration courses offered under its Gown to Town concept.
