UNIVERSITY of Goroka (UOG) council and the management are thankful to the Government for allocating them a new bus which was used during the Apec Leaders’ Summit last year.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Musawe Sinebare said: “The university is undergoing a reflecting exercise to replace some of its aging vehicles and this donation also comes timely and we thank the National Government.”
Pro vice-chancellor, policy and planning, Donald Gumbis said the university was in the process of registering the bus and sorting out legal documents before it can be shipped to Lae and driven up to the university.
“When it goes to Lae, we are looking at painting the university logo and the courses we offer as part of promoting the university particularly, we will be promoting the new medical school that we are planning to build,” he said.
The Government has also donated similar buses to the other universities.
