GEREKA Bombers were thrashed 1-61 by University Tigers in their round-eight Moni Plus-sponsored Port Moresby Australian Football League fixture at the Colts Oval on Sunday.
Bombers continue to struggle at ninth spot on the 10-team ladder with only one win and seven losses so far.
For Tigers, they have climbed one place from seventh following their fourth win of the season.
Tigers have recorded four losses so far, but are progressing up the ladder with an equal number of wins.
Forwards Collin Slain and Koeva Aiufa starred in the win with both men kicking a couple of goals each.
Both sides had an equal possession in the inside-50, but Bombers were poor with their kicks.
Tigers also made a number of disposals which made it difficult for Bombers’ forwards to find space for shots on goals.
Bombers only scored a behind in their 60-point loss.
Tigers attacked well to score nine goals and seven behinds.
Slain showed a lot of intensity and threatened to score every time he gained possession.
The three-goal hero’s height helped him dominate aerial contests.
Meanwhile, ladder-leading West Eagles continued to dominate the competition after they thrashed Cats 70-14 on Saturday.
Eagles kicked 10 goals and 10 behinds while Cats only kicked two goals and two behinds to lose by 56 points.
