SOME teachers in National Capital District schools are conducting lessons with red stained teeth and mouth full of betel nut in front of students.
Betel nut spewing out their mouth while teaching has become rooted and systemic.
Time and again teachers have been reminded to stop this practice during daily staff briefings at tea time and meetings.
Those reminders have fallen on deaf ears.
All zone inspectors have advised teachers not to chew betel nut during teaching hours.
Teacher should know that they are teaching in schools in the heart and soul of the country.
They should know that they are privileged to be posted to a school that is in the city, the dream province of all the teachers in the country.
NCD division of education and Teaching Service Commission officers should do surprise visits to schools.
Catch these vampire-like teachers who are not only undermining the standards of education, but are a threat to students’ health in the classroom.
Some of these students’ parents do not chew betel nut.
