Unsealed road a dust nuisance

Letters

OK Tedi mine is located in the Star Mountains of Western. The mine is also often referred to as Giant Gold Mine.
Since its development, the road between Tabubil and Kiunga is yet to be sealed.
A previous MP had promised to have it sealed for K10mil but nothing happened.
When will this road be sealed? The road becomes dusty during dry seasons and that may help spread airborne diseases such as tuberculosis.
OTML has to do something, even if it is only providing a water truck to dampen the parched earth and stop us from being choked in dust.
Western Provincial Health Authority (WPHA) must come up with some proposal to mitigate the dust problem faced by villages along the highway.
I have never seen a water truck spraying the road surface to keep it damp. WPHA has been educating people to stop TB infections in the province but they have not mentioned the dust.
We trust our young MP can help.
