THE incoming government must initiate an update of the common roll immediately when it takes office.
There have been too many complaints  about people not having the opportunity to vote as their names were not on the common roll.
The exercise must be done each year as early as possible.
The Electoral Commission must employ people who can do a better job at updating the common roll with the help of ward councillors.
Election after election, eligible voters are missing from the common roll.
Let us work towards a better common roll and a better election in 2017.
