IN A bid to be role models in keeping Port Moresby city clean, law students from the University of Papua New Guinea will be conducting a clean-a-thon next month.
Law Students Society president Flora Matiabe said the purpose was to show people they must have some sense of responsibility and take pride in and ownership of the capital city.
Matiabe said the students wanted to be role models and show good habits to the people so they could become responsible of caring for the environment.
“This is our city and we, as students, want to contribute something back to the nation,” she said.
The clean-a-thon will be held from Boroko to Vision City on April 14
Matiabe thanked Coca-Cola Amatil for donating 20 cartons of purified water bottles to help the students taking part in the clean-a-thon.
Matiabe said the society was appealing to business houses for sponsorship in cash or kind to help clean the city.
She said organisations willing to assist the students can contact her on 7364 3319.
Alternatively, they can contact  Lucy Marago on 343 6667.
