SCHOOL fee payments for the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) can now be done online through the BSP Pay online payment solution.
This will now provide an ease for school fee payments for both parents, sponsors and students, and the university itself, allowing all parties to avoid visiting the branches and for an efficient reconciliation process.
The BSP Pay payment solution is a domestic online payment solution that allows a BSP account holder to carry out online payments on registered merchants instantly and securely without the use of card details.
School fee payments are a common challenge for all students, parents, sponsors and educational institutions throughout Papua New Guinea each year.
It can be overburdening for staff with bulky manual fee collection and reconciliation of deposit slips, and an overwhelming process for registrations, which in turn, may lead to errors and inefficiency.
UPNG’s director of information and communication technology William Tapio in commending the payment method said: “We want to encourage parents, guardians, sponsors and students to utilise this alternative payment method to achieve a seamless registration journey for both students and bursary staff.
“Not only does the online payment provide real-time transaction reports, but also, eases registration processes when it is automatically triggered in the system after payment has been completed.
“A more convenient approach for both students and the University.”
The BSP Pay online payment platform is linked to the University Information System portal, and enables parents, sponsors or students to pay their school fees online through a registered mobile number.
