STUDENTS at the University of PNG want the Government to replace items they lost during the recent dispute with soldiers at Taurama.

Student representative council president Peter Numu said Defence Minister Fabian Pok had wanted to settle the dispute in the Melanesian way and they wanted to see this done.

“The students want to continue their studies but they had lost their laptops and other study materials.

“Returning to class is one thing and how to do studies is a totally different thing. Students have lost their possessions. How can they study?

“We are serious in serving lives so I am calling on the government to be quick with the processes and compensate the students quickly.”
