GOROKA Lahanis legend Gonzella Urakusie says it has been tough for him as head coach of a young and inexperienced side in the Digicel Cup this season.
The Lahanis finished ninth on the 12-team ladder with seven competition points.
The Bintangor-sponsored outfit only recorded two wins and a draw from 11 rounds of the regular season.
Their two wins were against Gulf Isou and competition heavyweights Mendi Muruks.
Their only draw of the season was against Mt Hagen Eagles in round nine.
“We have a young team, new-look team this year,” former SP Hunter Urakusie said after the Isou scalp at Port Moresby’s Oil Search National Football Stadium on Sunday.
“The team struggled to find much-needed confidence.
“It’s about getting the little things right.
“I think this year was a learning curve for them, so we’re aiming for a stronger campaign next season.
“We’ll try to retain the same group of players for next year.
“Hopefully what these boys learn this season can make them compete harder next year.”
