SINCE the introduction of the DSIP funding to the 89 electorates in the country, the districts have in one way or the other have benefited a lot regardless of how these funds have been put to use. With such a support mechanism as this, monies are now spent as per the emerging needs.  Many districts in the past had very little say on the use of public funds and so had little to do. But now the tide is rising above the very lows, which originally a mere talk or totally non-existent. The only concern now is the appropriation of such funds directed by the government to bring about tangible changes to the development facet of the rural areas to stick to.  Proper planning and implementation of activities and program from such DSIP funds is becoming quite difficult in some districts.
