YANGORU-Saussia MP Richard Maru says the Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccination will not be forced on people in the district whose constitutional rights must be respected to make their own decisions.
“No employer will bring the “no-jab-no-job” policy to Yangoru-Saussia,” he said. “You will not be allowed. People must be respected.
“Their rights to employment must be respected. Our people have rejected vaccination because of fear of what the vaccine will do to their body. No one should impose vaccination. I will not be responsible for their deaths.”
But, he warned that the Covid-19 was here to stay and the district had bought 5,000 Covid-19 testing kits to be put in healthcare facilities for those who show symptoms.
The district had also bought personal protective equipment, medicine and other equipment.
Education and awareness will be conducted to ensure people know and follow protocols.
Health teams will run workshops.
“We will not hurt our people and the businesses from the unnecessary infringement on their rights and freedom of choice, freedom to make a living and to take care of their families,” he said.
