Vanama spike out Jumas 3-0
DEFENDING champions, Vanama answered all critics in hammering Jumas 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 26-24) in the NCD Volleyball Association men’s premier division at the Taurama Indoor and Aquatic Centre on Saturday.
The return of their money man, George David and Jason Nauga, boosted the lineup that struggled during the first game last Saturday.
Vanama were sharp at the net as they bombarded Jumas’ territory with spikes through the middle that proved difficult for their opponents to pick up.
They backed it up well with good back court cover, restricting their opponents from scoring.
Juma tried all tricks in the book to retaliate through Poka Ai and Stanley Gele, but to no avail, as the reigning champions cruised home smoothly.
In other matches, Scorpions beat Strive Stars 3-0, Vailima brushed aside U-Mi Yet 3-1, Telikom went down 1-3 to Ela Motors and One-Six Pawa recorded their first win this season, beating Laudanu 3-2.
