Vanua grateful to earn living from cricket

KUMUL Petroleum Papua New Guinea Barramundis all-rounder Norman Vanua says he grateful to earn a living through the sport he loves – cricket.
“I still pinch myself to this day,” he said.
“I never dreamt of doing this for a living.
“Plus travelling the world, I get to experience different cultures and understand the way people live.
“We also get a chance to showcase what PNG is, not just through cricket but through our cultures as well.
The coffee-loving cricketer reminisces about his younger days playing backyard cricket with his cousins.
Growing up in a family of cricket players, he quite naturally conditioned himself to the sport, ultimately making it his career. Vanua said the sport had given him so much.
“It has taught me a lot,” he said.
“Being disciplined, pushing myself in everything I do on and off field, how I treat people, and it’s just made me a better person.”
