VISION CITY Mega Mall in Port Moresby has special attractions lined up for its customers this festive season.
Vision City Mega Mall general manager Anderson Ting said people visiting the mall can watch a “snow machine” displayed outside and lit up at night during the festive period.
The mall receives an average of 20,000 visitors on weekdays and 25,000 on weekends.
Ting said the management was also aware that there were other malls popping up in the city but Vision City had a market of its own.
“More malls will open maybe in two or three years’ time,” he said.
“Tenants will be asking, competitors will be asking what is our outlook. VC has a market of its own.”
Marketing manager Maureen Esta said the snow machine was one of the surprises.
“This machine is installed outside Vision City at the amphitheatre on a very high place to emit an artificial snow.
“It will be happening on first week of December,” she said.
“It’s actually a water inside the machine discharging a replica of snow into the air. Although it’s not real snow, it will still be fascinating for everyone to see.
“We call it the feel of snow at Vision City.
“It will be fun and exciting for kids, especially that is it going to be the first time happening at VC.”
There will also be games and fun activities with Santa Claus at the centre of the mall courtesy of Coca-Cola.
Shops such as Brian Bell, Fone Haus, City Pharmacy and Jack’s of PNG will hold big sales and promotions.
“We will also have new shops such as Prouds at Level 1 on Dec 1.”
Safety and security is also guaranteed, according to security and safety manager Sevanaia Koroi, following a fire and active shooter drill conducted this week.
Ting said VC’s outlook for next year will be special as it will mark the first decade in operation.
“The market that we are planning for next year is huge,” he said.
“I think there will be six months of spending spree.
“We will be giving away K50,000 worth of shopping for lucky shoppers,” Ting said.
