VEHICLE thefts in the Moresby North West area is becoming common, according to NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Benjamin Turi.
Turi said most of the thefts happened in Gerehu and Waigani, June Valley and the June Valley Junction in Tokarara. There were six reported cases in the past week.
“There was one reported case on Thursday, two on Saturday and three on Sunday. Most of these happened at Gerehu, Waigani and Tokarara. PSC Waigani and PSC Gerehu must send out more patrols,” Turi said.
“The Tokarara-June Valley junction area is dark with no proper lighting and that’s where most vehicles are stolen.”
Turi said another area was the empty space at the back of Parliament House.
