LOCAL MP Pila Niningi will arrange for a vehicle for each health centre and aid post in the Imbongu electorate.
These are Pogerapaul health centre, Buyabi health centre, Kaupena health centre, Yaria aid post, Pinj aid post and Pakule aid post.
Niningi, who is the Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, made this commitment on Saturday at the Digicel office in Mt Hagen where he received the keys to a new vehicle for the Pogerapaul health centre. The vehicle was donated by Digicel Foundation with the support of the Imbongu district administration.
Niningi said that he will see to it that aid posts and health centres get their vehicles this year.
“Funding is set aside,” he said.
“I will ensure that the new vehicles are used to provide a quality healthcare to the people.
“Health services in the electorate had been deteriorating because there had been no support given. But under my leadership I will ensure that health services is boosted and people receive better treatment.”
He said the vehicles were important because most health centres and aid posts were in remote locations.
He is looking at developing health, education and roads in his electorate.
