THE venue for the 30th Momase regional soccer tournament has been changed again to the Lae Football Association Park in Lae, Morobe.
The event was initially scheduled for Tani Maraba Memorial School at Mutzing in Markham Valley.
The event has also been deferred to Oct 10-16.
Momase Regional Soccer Federation president John Peka said the change had occurred to allow schools to seat for their examinations.
He said the previous plan was reached after an agreement between the soccer organising committee and the school that the facilities would be free after the students had gone for holidays.
“It turned out that the students will be sitting for their examinations through the dates of the tournament, a situation beyond our control,” he said.
Peka said some associations had already confirmed their participation.
He said Aitape had confirmed one men and women’s team, Turubu association of Wewak Urban had a men and women’s side.
He added that teams to come from Madang were Karkar with two men’s teams, and Madang Urban, Walium and Ramu who all had put up a team in the division.
Teams from Morobe participating at the tournament include Boana, Fincshhafen, LFA, LAHI, Markham Bridge, Munum, Salamaua, Tami, Wau, Onga-Wafa, Atzera Naruaps and Mutzing.
Gugurf and Kaiapit have confirmed a men’s and women’s team.
Peka is appealing to those yet to affiliate or pay their registration fees to pay through the federation’s ANZ account No. 11607456.
The affiliation fee of K200 and K300 registration is applicable to centres participating at the event.
He said Momase region had produced some of PNG’s top players, administrators and managers.
Meanwhile, the tournament for regional clubs and runners-up will be held in Vanimo, West Sepik,  on Nov 8-15.
