Very good deterrent

 THE death penalty is not outright evil or unethical. 

It can be a very good deterrent to heinous crimes committed by evil people.

We are not going to hang every person who commits a murder. 

Some murder incidences eventuate from situations of unintentional behaviour or defense responses. 

These acts must be justified by the Courts and jail terms be accorded as required by lawoffenders as punshment.
