VEUPUNAMA face an uphill battle against Telstars in round eight of the Port Moresby Netball Association premier division competition at the Rita Flynn Indoor Complex tomorrow.
Telstars are join competition leaders with reigning champions Sparrows in the seven teams competition this season and looks to be the premiership hopefuls.
Veupunama over three seasons have improved with the coaching of former PNG Pepes coach Margaret Opina and will be looking for outstanding performance from her young girls.
Opina has stock of potential talents against Telstars with current and former Pepes to start as the favourites but that will be put on notice in their offense and defense in the four quarter challenge.
She will rely on goal attack Ravu Noka who has been instrumental in her shooting with the support of Daisy Vali and in the mid court wing attack Barbara Arivusu, centre Tauma Gulo- Vali and wing defence Rebecca Joseph also in goal defence Villie Nopiri and goal keeper Ruth Paku.
Telstars shooters in (GA) Eva Aua and veteran Gamini Koroka will be unstoppable with mid court © Athalia Kila and (WA) Kimberley Alex to set the pace as usual and with defenders (GD) Boio Peter including Philomena Naime.
Young Aua is currently in good form and should be in her peak against against the opposition.
They are properly the fitter side in the competition but silly errors and turn overs with patience and control in attacking.
In the other encounters Sparrows up against Rebels while Mermaids face of with another improved team Aroma Coast Plus.
