VIBRANT and energetic people are required as ward councillors to ensure government services reach rural areas, Morobe deputy administrator Patilias Gamato says.

Gamato, also the local level government election steering committee chairman, said on Saturday while casting his vote that mature, educated and energetic people with wisdom were required to become ward councillors and LLG presidents.

“Because social issues were major impediments to service delivery caused by influence of communication technology and to allow swift delivery of government services, it requires tough leaders in LLGs,” he said.

“We need to choose leaders who could lead them to another level.”
