Victims pay the prize

Letters

It is sad to read about Joseph Tondop and Michael Welly every time in the newspaper compromising their duties.
Why are they always negotiating with criminals at the expense of the innocent and harmless individual victims and businesses who pay for their necessities?
I think these guys in blue berets just don’t know what their actions are amounting to and on the same token they might not have been properly given a rundown of their sworn duties.
If the problem is the latter, all fingers should point back at the police commissioner.
