Village courts neglected

Normal, Papua

VILLAGE courts have been neglected and the staff are under-paid, village court magisterial chairman Paul Oai said.
Mr Oai, a representative of the Evadaha village court in Moresby South, said the magistrates, peace officials and clerks were paid wages that do not match the amount of work they did  for the community.
He appealed to  relevant departments to look into the plight of village courts and their staff.
