Tauruba village health volunteers (VHVs) are now able to conduct proper awareness in Rigo, Central, following a three-week training.
Nineteen participants took part in the workshop that ran from April 11-29 as an initiative approved by the Health Department and Unicef to improve their knowledge in basic health.
Workshop facilitator Sr Lucy Kalep said: “The purpose of the workshop was to empower community-based youths with basic health knowledge, skills and attitude in health.”
She said the training was aimed at promoting health activities within various communities conducted by trained VHVs and community health workers, especially in Central and Gulf.
