Village set to stage darts competition

 TWENTY teams has confirmed their participation for the DHC Customs Agency-sponsored Darts Super League Cup team championship to be played on Tuesday at Gaire village, Central province.

Tournament director captain Toea Kila and committee member Patty Dala are confident that the three-day tournament would be a successful one.

Kila, who is using his experience as the former president of Port Moresby Darts association, is breaking new grounds by introducing the dart competition in Gaire village.

Dala said the dart competition started two years ago and is now finding its way into the Motuan village.

The main objective of the darts tournament is to promote the game in the villages. 

The other two neighbouring villages Barakau and Tubuseria have come off age by taking part in other sporting activities and have travelled. The sportsman from Gaire also want to do the same by taking part in sporting activities. 

Dala acknowledged the support  from FM Central and Lalokau FM.

The winner will be walking away with K2,000 plus Cup, second place K1,000.

The competition received a timely boost yesterday with a K3,300 from DHC Customs Agency.
